Ireland and Scotland do ,so why not Wales. I dont particularly want to cheer for England . Or at the least have an England and Wales called team . Give the Welsh someone to root for!

Because Cardiff as a city and people, disgracefully sold their soul for the opportunity to host an "England" Test Match.

Sophia Gardens hosting a Test makes Cardiff a de facto English venue, and therefore Welsh representaion at cricket a virtual impossibility.

The rest of Wales despairs at the scabs of Caerdydd. The city has shown its true colours and will likely suffer by losing its capital status within the decade.

Unfortunately for the Welsh, they have no national representative side. The English Cricket Board (ECB) was only recently re-named from the England and Wales Cricket Board, and the Welsh are still very much part of the English set-up in cricketing terms. Hence, England will play international matches at Sophia Gardens, Glamorgan; and Welsh players routinely play for England.
Welsh counties put together a representative side for certain competitions, but they still unfortunately have no international status.
Wales does not have a side in the ECC (European Cricket Conference) so cannot even start down the road towards World Cup qualification.
Terrible thing to hear as a Welshman, but in cricketing terms Welsh=English!!!!

Because cricket is really only played in South Wales, North Wales is digging slate and mountain hiking, while mid-Wales is closely involved with sheep.

They need to be involved with England to have any opportunity.

(P.S. the Welsh root for the sheep)
