hello i was just wondering ive got talktalk broadband with 8 meg unlimited downloads. what i need to know what sort of down load speeds should i be expecting any ideas thanx for any help

I'm with Talktalk and have no problem at all (6.8 meg download), but then I only live a mile or so away from the digital exchange.

Don't know but have heard bad things about talktalk and Tiscali. I've got BT broadband and so far, no problems!

the service you have is 'up to' 8mb, which you'll never see. All broadband ultimately runs on BT copper wires from your house to the local exchange. Talktalk have a wholesale rate from BT and resell it, just like other providers.

8 Meg should have a real world speed of downloading files of around 200 - 500, obviously depending where you are in relation to the file you want.
If you are able to get out of your contract, do so, as the guy above says they are not know for being good. BBC link below

havent got a clue sorry but we got broadband recently and have had nothing but problems since. I going to post a question is broadband all its cracked up to be.
