I was part of a group of people, who were walking from one place to another. I don’t know where we were going, but the trip required us to walk up and down mountains, through fields, along paths, along canals. At one point, a duck started waddling in front of us, where ever we went. It was like the duck was leading the group. I was helping people up this one rough section of path, and when I reached the top, there was a large lake, that spread out in front of us. We were carefully navigating the soggy shoreline and speculating if the duck would swim away or continue waddling in front of us, and I woke up.
What does that duck mean?

Our group had been walking for a long time, as my dream memory had it, before the duck showed up. It was a male mallard, with the blue wing feathers clearly showing. We were not consciously following it but had a clear goal, even though I don't know what the goal actually was. I just knew there was an end somewhere ahead of us.
The duck just suddenly seemed to have appeared waddling along about 10 feet in front of the first person in the group. The lead person kept changing, sometimes it was me, other times it was a child, other times a man or woman.
I wandered back and forth in the group, sometimes helping others, sometimes helping move a wagon or cart, or carrying children on my shoulders, on in my arms.
Anyway, from that point, the duck just kept waddling in front. It was not a duckling, but a full grown male duck. Occasionally it would quack, but never too much.
