Your connection speed is measured in megabits. a 10 megabit connection speed would equate to about 1.2 megagbytes. There are 8 bits in a byte. Sounds like JACK IN is the only one who knows what he is talkin about here! The rest of you need to stick eith fixin sandwiches becuasy you have no business fixin peoples PC woes!
By the way Sandy, your connection sounds just fine to me! You probably have DSL.

10.0mpbs also means 10meg...
but the speed will be depending on how far you are from your local exchange. nearer you are the faster you will get but if you're far, the speed of you internet will be reduced...

well, depends on, on what you have 10mBit ! If it is insde a local Network (from PC to PC f.ex.) then it is way too slow. But for a Broadband Internet Connection, it is already fast !

This means that your connection can transfer 10 mega BITS per second. If you recalculate it into BYTES it would be 1.25 mega BYTES per second.
