Why do I get comments from some people, that I dress like a little girl?

Question

I don't think that I dress that way at all. Why do some say that. I am 24 but don't look my age, I've been told I look 18. I wear normal pants, like jeans and such, and I like things of "Victoria's Secret pink" type. Some people seem to have problems with this for some reason, they tell me I dress like a little girl, why?

Edit* They also comments on me wearing sports shoes, that's the shoes that I wear all the time, especially in winter, I guess, they want me to wear high heels, and I'll never do that, they are super uncomfortable to me.

to me.. wear what ever you want. i love pink pants! Their are differennces when people wear ...jeans red flats or red flats denim skirt and leggings. but to me, wear what you think is comfertable and what ever you like!

well i dont know about "victoria's secret pink" ,but victorias secret isnt childish at all so i dont understand why ppl think that. but i feel ya girl i look like im 16 and im 21. maybe it is cause you dont exactly dress like every other 24 yr old out there. but i wouldnt worry about it cause it doesnt really matter about what other ppl think about your dress. as long as your comfy and your not trying to dress like ur still in high school or something

Your post was interesting for me to read as im also 24, 25 in a few month and look sooo young. People normally say I look 18 too. Im in uk where we have to be 18+ to drink so I often get asked for ID!

Im short and also have a babyface and im also a very petite build. Im 5'1 how tall are you? I dont think my height and build helps with looking older!

I love jeans and sweaters... so I dont dress any differently from any other person really - as thats what my friends wear but they look older in the face. When I wear a suit for a smart work event etc I look a bit older but still not my age! I have a sister who is 5 years younger and everyone thinks shes older than me - shes also a lot taller so that helps i think.

I also love to wear pink and everyone says this makes me look young... but I like the colour so wear it! but I dont want to dress in 'mature colours' like just black, grey, brown and cream like most people my age do.

I think sports shoes do make people look younger. I wear them sometimes but try not too as I look about 16 in them!! hehe. I wear shoes with a small heel as I dont like higher ones as I like to be comfy like you! When I go out to a bar or club etc I do wear heels and they do may you look older (still often get asked id thou!) but they arent practical or comfy to wear all the time.

I dont know why people tell you ya look young from wearing victoria secret style clothing. I have had a look at their site (as we dont have vs over here) and the clothes look really nice and not young styled at all.

A tip is a Blazer style jackets also make you look older and wearing more sophisticated style clothes but its not my thing!

It annoys me when I constantly get told I look really young. But theres nothing I can do really so just put up with it. As everyone tells me I will like it once im in my 40s and look 30 :)

Well i dont know all of the details like who tells you that, like your mom or family... but it could be because you look young, or with your choice of clothes maybe they want you to look more sophisticated. slacks or dresses and fancy shoes and the like.
