I'm thinking of buying the movie, but first I want people's opinions about what they think about this film. Kenneth Branagh and Robert De Niro act in it. Is it faithful to the book?
Is it amazing?

The book was absolutely amazing! The original black and white movie is horrible. After reading the book you realize that Frankenstein doesn't walk or act in any way like how the movie made him out to be. In the book you also realize that he is quite intelligent and struggles to be accepted and enjoy life. The 1994 version is better than the black and white version but still does not give the book justice! Hope that helped!

While the DeNiro did act against type in this movie, and some critics didn't appreciate his performance, I - and many others - enjoyed the movie very much. It is very faithful to the book, especially in the way it portrays the monster as more of a tragic figure, and the darker side of man.
