He rode a horse Named Friday !

there are two possibilities her:
1. the horse name would have been friday.
2. he started to the inn on friday,he came to the inn on wednesday night. He stayed there for wednesday and thursday nights and returned back on friday.

I think because he rode in but didn't stay right away he might of stayed somewhere else the other 5 nights.
