I have bought a new hard drive for a dell inspiron 630m .. i havent put it in yet, After i put it in what do i do? can anyone maybe point me to some websites to help or give me some details thanks!

right.. i got this laptop off someone and it didnt have a hard drive in it hence getting the new one.

i have the windows XP disk and other disks for the laptop like the driver disks ...

is this going to be your new boot disk? or a data disk
if it is going to be a boot disk it will need your operating system installing on it.
need to know what your going to do with it before you can be advised on what to do

Why the hell do you want a new hard drive unless it's bust? Just buy an external one. Once you've put it in you will need to boot with an XP or Vista full installation CD in the drive and just install from there. Or, if you have recovery discs, run it with the first one of those in there. But trust me, a new hard drive is never dead simpl to work on - you might have to enter your BIOS by use of one the 'F' keys (haven't the foggiest which one for your computer) and change the boot options so that the CD drive is as close to the first boot device that you can find. If you're really not sure, just go take it to PC world or similar and get them to do it.
