I miss the golden age of the stand up coin op arcade game.
My top five would be
1...Bombjack
2...Nemesis
3...Gaunlet
4...Goldn Axe
5...Outrun

Hard Drivin isn't that old either :-) Good game though.
I was around in the early days but as classic as those games are, they don't make the grade anymore. Galaga was cool though and so was Tron, Tron Maze a Tron or whatever it was called.

Those aren't very old games you can't be as old as Ward Cleaver I bet. So you may not have heard of these.
My #1: Discs of Tron. An amazing game and one of the rare old kind that started with space invaders and pacman where, if you were good enough, you could keep playing indefinitely on one quarter, until you finally get tired and get killed. Discs of Tron combined this by being an open-strategy game: a simple arena, simple set of rules, make up a strategy.
#2: Galaga
I never got as good at this as some people were, but you have to put Galaga in the top 5 ever, at least if you're over 30.
#3: Hard Drivin: the first real force-feedback driving game.
I don't know about the rest. those are my top 3.

those are not very previous video games you won't have the ability to be as previous as Ward Cleaver I wager. so which you are going to possibly no longer have heard of those. My #a million: Discs of Tron. an excellent recreation and between the uncommon previous sort that one and all started with area invaders and pacman the place, in case you have been stable adequate, you will possibly be able to desire to maintain enjoying indefinitely on one quarter, until you ultimately get drained and get killed. Discs of Tron mixed this via being an open-approach recreation: an ordinary section, basic set of policies, make up a approach. #2: Galaga I by no ability have been given as stable at this as some people have been, yet you will possibly be able to desire to place Galaga interior the proper 5 ever, a minimum of while you're over 30. #3: annoying Drivin: the 1st authentic stress-comments driving recreation. i do no longer understand with regards to something. those are my proper 3.

1. Ms. Pac-Man..love the board complications over the droll first version.
2. Wizard of Wor
3. Defender
4. Joust
5. Donkey Kong. They make a fortune spinning off the original.
I could play Battle Zone for hours also, but I find its graphics and challenge are dated too far to make the list.

I have a gametap account which lets me play a lot of the oldies. My favorites there are:
1. Adventure (Atari 2600)
2. Joust
3. H.E.R.O.
4. Galaga
5. Asteroids
Oh yes, and my favorite game of all time X-Com, can be played there as well.

I loved playing Cadillacs and Dinosaurs with my cousins when we were younger. And it still was fun when we tried to do that again on MAME (although it was kinda messy: two on the keyboard, one with my joypad. Good times.)
Nowadays, the only thing that I play on arcade is the Cruisin' games, and other arcade racing stuff. Don't feel really attracted by the stuff they put on nowadays.

I have always loved the Time Crisis games, especially number 2. Also the old Sega driving games, which I think are the "Daytona" series, but I am not sure.
