It means that the server you were using does not have it's "business" squared away with the makers of your Operating System and does not have a verifiable certificate in play to prove that
This means that there may be some functions of the server that you are using that will cause problems with full service from your operating system OR may not allow certain functions of your system to operate at all

I believe that there is a commission for Internet security that was established to maintain a consistent form of protection for users attempting to view a domain. It's registered by something called a "security certificate". I think the message you are receiving is just stating that their server hasn't been renewed with a current and up to date certificate. If it's a site that you have been to before, you shouldn't worry about it, and just continue on to view the content of the page, otherwise, be sure you have an up to date spyware blocker/remover installed on your system, and not be afraid to use it.

This server is issuing a security certificate which is outdated or unverified. This is a part of a security protocol called SSL, where websites acquire electonic credibility by registering an electronic certificate, so they can be traced and identified.

If this site is a commercial site, you'd better not engage any transaction. If not, there is no problem.

Sounds like the server was a secure server that has a certificate that has expired.

If using IE click on Tools > Internet Options > Content then select cetificates to see what certs you have on your pc.

You will have to use a different server until the security issue is resolved. Try a different path if possible to another server.
