what kind of software do i need for the psp?

i've bought this psp second hand and all i got was the psp nothing else so finding it hard to download things etc. when i plug the usb cable into the back of the psp the computer doesn;t recognize it. don't have software so as you can see i'm really struggling with this thing and my son is getting impatient as he want s to play his games on it but i want to know how to download music etc

go to http://www.psphowtos.co.nr/ it tells you every thing about the psp and how it works. iv got one and this site gave me all the information. hope it helps.
