Though my answer were get me slaughtered.

From my management experience I can tell you why. Women miss more work, on average, and successful men tend to make work their number 1 priority, above marriage and family.

So very few women run with the big dogs, stay late, come in early, work years without vacations.

More women than men choose to make their kids and family their number one priority.

We can't have it both ways.

That is a good question.

I suspect that it may be the same reason that taller people get paid more than shorter people. The perception of superiority and dominance in whatever form gives an employee more leverage when negotiating wages at the onset of a job and asking for subsequent raises.

Im not saying it's right, only that our primitive inner psyche responds to this perception.

Not in the philippines! The average of women doing the white collar jobs here in the philippines is higher compared to men. And therefore, there is so much gender equality here than in the US. We already had two women president. And in there's none in the history of the US.

Because traditionally men were the breadwinners.

Also, wages are measured against basic male wages, in the economy, its a yard stick.

Women must work less hours if they get less.
