The only professions I can think of where this would be acceptable are: model, porn star, or stripper. Otherwise, as long as you look respectable and meet whatever minimum dress code requirements the company has, you can dress however you want. Don't have to dress like you're going to a funeral, but at least look presentable.

There are only two in that list that I comletely agree with. The uniform one(some jobs require uniforms, and if you know about and don't like the uniform, don't try and get a job there), and the interview one(you should always look your best for an interview, if you can't show that you can take care of yourself, you show that you can't take care of your job, and men have to look good for interviews too).

no. however, they are covertly. try this: look up potential jobs in the local area of the same field you'd think would get the same pay and have similar duties. (choose same job titles and same companies if possible and in a field about which you're knowledgeable). go to one interview wearing plain-looking pants and a non-revealing, loose shirt and no make-up or styling to the hair. ace the interview, show your intelligence and drive.
go to the second interview and bomb it, but this time wear sexy (but not slutty) stylish, feminine clothes and makeup, styled hair and don't forget the high heals. smile and laugh when you stutter and stammer at the answers
compare and contrast.

That's one thing to change the way you look. It's another to dress and look appropriately for the occasion. There's a time and a place for looking a certain way.

Studies have shown that women who emphasize their appearance too much (i.e. sex it up) in the workplace tend to get overlooked for advancement opportunities. It's best for everyone to keep it professional.
