Acetic acid is vinegar if i'm not wrong? but i know ants shun away from vinegar coz' vinegar will make them think that it's another ant's colony and so will not get close to it.

Acetic acid is nothing but" viniegar " which commonly used in preparing food, mainly Chinese dishes. If a human consume more, he/she may end up with acidic problems. Poor ant how can it withstand. True it may not die instantly, but it affects its metabolism, and an early death.
