They would be amazing if nash were still on the mavs. The only thing keeping them from being great back then was don nelson. If nash had only made the avery johnson era they would be so good. Avery Johnson makes the mavs just as good as the spurs because he WAS a spur. Learning from coach pop can make all the difference

Josh I think if Steve Nash were still on the Mavs he would not be as good and neither would the Mavs. Nash's run and gun style of play is great for the Suns but would not fit with Avery's belief in defense. Nash does not do defense. I think everything is fine just the way it is. Go Mavs!!!!!!!

If Steve Nash were still on the Mavs, then they wouldn't have lost like even one game cause' they got Dirk. And with Nash, that's a kill!

i think the move has benifitedboth franchises as well as the two marque players - Dirk and Nash.
since the trade the Mavs have been stronger defensively and have still remained in top contention in the west. the Suns have transformed themselves into an up tempo team and has - with the help of nash - become a power house in the west.
since the trade, Dirk has become the better player. with no nash there, he was forced to step up and be the team leader....and he has done it well. the past 2 years he has pushed the Mavs to solid regular season wins, as well as elevating his game. all of it leading up to an MVP candidate for 06-07.
nash too has benifited and has become a two time MVP as well as a player in contention for 06-07. he has led the L in assists as well as putting up solid shooting % from all areas.
all in all, both players pushed themselved into superstardom since the trade....not to mention elevating their respective teams into finals contentions

If Nash were still on the Mavericks, then it would pretty much be the same. Dirk and Steve have played alongside each other for a considerable time, and they still weren't a post-season threat. I think that they were never meant for stardom in the same team. They were much better if they were separated. One team just cannot accomodate players of Nash and Nowitzki's caliber.

If he had stayed with the Mavs he wouldn't be as great as he is now because he fits in better with the Suns. Also Dirk wouldn't be as great as he is because he he would still have to share the team leadership with him.

i'd say the mavs won't get too good, i think nash works better in the suns with marion and stoudemire. ever since nash moved to suns he started to improve his skills.

i think that nash would not be this big if he were still in dallas. nowitzki and nash are good players when they are together but i think they are better when they play apart
