I have baught the game recently and I want to play with the best units of the best civilization

Teutonic knight is the best Castle infantry of the civilization Teuton. the unit is slow but has got real power in their swords.
but for me best civilization is Spain civilization especially for there cannon galleons which are much better than the others.
c.gall of them shoot like bullet fast while others like dropping slow parachute

Long Bowman of Britons is a good Castle infantry!
Their range is greater than any other archers[ranged units]!
Thier range is 13 (even castles has only 11 range even after maximum research)
The long bowmans are effective only when used as a group of 10 to 15!!!
cost 60 wood & 20 gold
Evolves into elite long Bowman!
health 80/80
range 13[elite][after all research in blacksmith]
building 1
attack 7+5[elite longbowman,after the researh of chemistry]

It is on you to choose which one you like most. Britons, French, Spanish are the powerful civilisations.
When I was playing Age2, I always choose Britons to play, But Teutonic knights were also cheaper.
If you know the cheat codes of resources then I will suggest you to choose Persian civilisation

Well, An additional information I wants to give you that brought the latest version of age of empires ie. Age3 war chief.
It has an great graphics, Units, Utilities etc.

Age of Empires 2 is very similar to the original, but number 3 totally steps it up, and I'm not 100% sure I like that. I'm not too sure on difficulty but they have some gameplay tweaks such as some units cost multiple population. There's this whole call in resources from mother city thing, its bizarre!

Hi>the chinese are very good if you are attacking over the walls.the persian elephants are also good but are slow .i recommend chinese
the best unit is the cheat car.
press enter when playing a chat window opens type 'how do you turn this on' and you will get the car.you can create this car innumerable number of times irrespective of the population limit

If you want in handarms The choice shud be Teutonic knights in archers then the longbowman if in cavalry then the war elephant

In AOE there is no strong unit as well as no weak unit.
Paladins are not strong with heavy camels are not strong with Halberdier are not infront of hand canonier.
Castle infantry in aztec is good.
