Well only one eye is like this actually. When I was younger I had a problem with picking my eyelashes so often so much till that my eyelids would bleed and form scabs, which I’d pick with too. It was uncontrollable. Somehow I managed to control my habit with meds and am no longer doing what I later found out was Trichotillomania. Now however I seem to have a permanent scar. The skin on my left eyelid where I picked the most has a very dark area; not only that, it seems to be saggier than the right side and a little wrinkled. I didn't know at the time that this is what would happen, but now I want to fix this. What options do I have? Will it go away? I have stopped doing it for a year now.

I'd see your GP who may be able to make a referral to a plastic surgeon who can help with the scarring.

I'm glad you've been able to overcome this impulse. It is a notoriously difficult one to pass! Keep up the work, I know it is difficult.

Will power is a useful tool and can work. If you feel the impulse arising again and find yourself wanting to pick, talk to a qualified therapist who can help you develop techniques on top of your amazing will power!
