When I need to program any remote control, I perform an internet search on the model number of the remote control (it should be on the remote) before the word "codes".

So if you have a Motorola TR-1677 (not real), you should search for "TR-1677 Codes." You will definately find the codes and instructions for programming. In many cases, you will get a PDF file of the User's Guide.

Many cable remotes are not programmable. I think your best bet would be to contact your provider.
