The problem appears to be with, 'Local Network Configuration Settings. This is causing problems between two separate computers. connected via Home Hub, by two ethernet cables.
I was told I was correct in the fact that, this should not happen when are both just typing.
This will be only, when downloading on one computer, will effect the other computers speed.

What happens is, both our computers makes the other computer, work slower. (In other words) Both people cannot work efficiently at the same time.

Has anyone got a solution into how I can reconfig settings, without damaging the Network totally. To enable us both to be able to work at home.

Please only advise if you know a great deal about computers.

The network shouldnt affect the performance of your PCs.
Are they sharing files constantly?
If you really suspect the BT Homehub (I doubt it), then just make sure you are both on the same workgroup and then reset the homehub internally.
I have upto 5 machines running through Homehub at anyone time with no effect on the other machines.

In your TCP/IP settings ensure that each machine is asking for a ip address to be allocated rather than demanding one, if they are both asking for the same address i.e 192.168.1.2, then I guess that would cause problems, I would imagine just one of them wouldnt connect, but you don't describe that error.

I think more looking at your system is needed, or a bit more detail, networks aren't a case of one size fits all.

Hope I have been some help, if only a little.

Log onto Bt Broadband help website, they're going to deliver a server by your ethernet cable and assist you as you properly set up your abode community. The operator takes over your computing device from Bt's end and that they do it curious approximately you - it rather is 24 hours provider too.

You should look at Task Manager (right click Task Bar), Processes to see if CPU utilisation is near 100% and identify which application is responsible.

There should be no interference on typing local documents but via Internet who knows? There should also be no interference with one PC downloading and the other running local applications.

chances are, the network part is not affecting your computer, its all the shite that bt install at the time of installing off that disk,

Id get rid of it all, and just setup the network yourself,

Ethernet is easy, its just plug and go!
