I went to Tijuana some years back. My friend and I were very careful not to drink the water. As a matter of fact, we stayed just on this side of the border ( in Chula Vista) where we still didn't drink the water. However, we thought nothing of swimming in the hotel pool, it being on American soil and all. Still, after arriving home extremely ill, I was diagnosed with Pleuritic (an inflammation of the lining of the lungs).

Yep. They have very nasty bacteria in their water (which is mainly untreated and full of ick) that causes severe cramping and diarrhea in most people not from south of the boarder. Sorry!!!
