Is reading FUN?

I'm 13 and I love reading.
Some people hate it.
Tell me your opinion and if you like books tell me what kinds you like reading.

The way I see it is, if you have a big imagination and can read a book and in your head put yourself in the characters' situations, then yeah, reading can be just as fun as anything you can physically do. If you don't have that good of an imagination, and you just sit there and read, you'll be bored and hate reading. Not to say that people with small imaginations don't enjoy reading, but if you can put yourself into the book, and mentally interact with the characters, you're gonna have fun....Just one's opinion

I love reading too. I don't realy like just one genre, I kinda like them all. Although if I had to pick a favorite it would probably be books that have magic and some fantasy. I LOVE the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher paolini. I also like the harry potter series, the last one wasn't quite as good as the others though. I hope the 7th is better. I also enjoy books by Garth Nix. Oh, and Carcin is right, the dark tower series is great.

YES!

Reading is probably the most fun leisure activity I know. It sure beats TV and Internet for me, anyway. I guess I like it so much because I feel like I'm participating in the story. I have to work with the author to imagine the scenes and people he or she has described on paper. If I don't contribute something to it, it's just words on paper.

My favorite books are historical novels, but I'll read just about anything.

Is the sky blue? Heck, I eat, live, and dream books. I've been reading books since I was in first grade, and haven't stopped since. It's my personal belief that people hate books only because they haven' t gotten acquainted with a good one yet, pity for them.

So. My favorite books. I could stay here all day, writing a list, but here's a sampling. Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity (it's philosophical). Sherlock Holmes. Agatha Christie.

I read philosophy, history, politics, literature (as in Poe or Twain), teen fiction, comics, magazines...basically, nearly anything.

But what I am doing here? I've got a stack of enticing books waiting for me, so I guess it's Ciao for now.

Yes, it definitely is. I think it is unwise for those who hate reading since the letters of any language and the books have long been one of the greatest treasures of mankind. Just imagine a world without letters, languages, printed pages and books of all kinds for voracious readers to read for sheer pleasure or for deeper knowledge, but there are none so how about the readers, what should they read instead?
Again, I like reading various kinds of books such as history, fictions, philosophy, classics, biographies, essays, short stories, memoirs, etc.

YES IT IS FUN!! I am 15 and I love to read! I like fantasy books best. I have been reading ever since I was old enough to know how and loved it just as long! I cannot comprehend how people do not like to read. It completely baffles me. Are they just too lazy?
At the risk of sounding very sappy, i think reading is a great adventure you can go on from the safety of your living room couch.

please keep reading! We readers are a dying breed!

i read my first novel at the age of 10(enchanted wood by Enid Blyton).since then i have got so hooked that i can't sleep without reading a book be it a short story or a novel.once when i got The Eldest by Christopher Paolini(he is merely 20 something)i read it till 4 a.m in the morning. needless to say i LOVE books.though i have spoiled my eyesight reading too much books
i think u are at a right age to start reading books because you are at an age of developing habits for life.reading books is one habit i assure u that u will cherish ur whole life.
u can start with Enid blyton(i did )
u can also read stories about teenagers(there are lots of writers of this genre)
u can also give novelization of famous movies a good try:they are wonderful(i read spider man)
don't go for bestsellers just right now because u need to develop love for books in order to enjoy them.so u should just start with something simple like Enid Blyton.
and yeah u can start with Harry Potter series they are really wonderful and not at all like the movies.u should definitely give HP series a good try
only thing i want to say is that u got to get under the skin of the characters of the story in order to enjoy any book.only then u will be able to understand the depth of the plot and character's feeling.
one of the best things about reading is that ur English really develops and u will love to write it too

i ♥ 2 read! OMG im 12 n in the 7th grade in i read 24/7 mii fav hangout iz the library. mii friendz r kool w/ readin I prpbably go 2 the library 4x a week. during skool i read during social studies class ( mii novel, not the social studies book, the social studies book iz b-o-r-i-n-g) n i get i n trouble all the time. i ♥ 2 read more than 1 book @ a time. Right now mii faves have 2 b the following:

Is Reading fun? Man, I love it!.Its the perfect relaxation any one would give u.A good buk is man's best friend,according to me.I love reading all types of ficitious stories. My favorites r Famous Five,Secret Seven by Enid Blyton,Harry Potter and all works of Charles Dickens..And also if anything gives facts about space n space science I'll be the first one to grab it.So then my friend, continue reading u'll always feel Glad for it in future.

Hi there. I'm 24. I love to read. I've read since I was 12. I can finish a whole novel in a day. I always felt like a dork or something, but really it makes you so much smarter. lol
