I mistakenly bought into the notion the Coach K can actually, you know, coach. I figured that since he's been done since last Thursday, he would have a whole week to get his 6 McDonald All-Americans rested, ready and with a game plan to win. Then, when they got a 6 seed, instead of the 7 or 8 seed they deserved, I thought for sure they could squeak into the second round. I'm happy to say that I thoroughly underestimated their suckiness...

I caught no end of hell for it from my friends and coworkers at UConn (they hate me cos I am a Tennessee grad anyways...), but I picked VCU to beat not only Duke, but Pitt as well. A lot of them had Duke going fairly far, too.
That was a great game to watch, though. Very March Madness. I'm glad I was able to be home for the entire thing and that Jesus Gumbel didn't randomly decide to send me to some other stupid game like CBS likes doing.

Heh. I'm a UNC Tarheel fan. I'll admit it. I picked Duke to win the first round. I knew it would be a tough fight, but I thought they would make their exit in the second round.
However, I'm also a hypocrite. My girlfriend asked me to look at her bracket, and I told her that VCU over Duke would be a great upset to pick. She changed it and put VCU over Duke.
It's too bad I'm not smart enough to listen to my own advice!

Not me I knew and I told everyone that VCU was going to win that game. VCU has a lot of Junior and Senior players, and Duke have a lot of under classmen, and NOT 1! Senior on that team. So, I picked VCU in my brackets!

Nobody, coach K needed a better roster, kinda a national team roster, for duke to be the champs. Oregon should be the champs!

not me. unlike the duke teams from grant hill's time until last year, this duke team had no go-to-guy. they had no established scorer who could score when the team needed it. yes they have josh mcroberts but he is a better player and scorer when when he is not the focal point of their offense
