does this mean i have it with this pregnancy. when i had my son last year i had antibiotics for group b strep so i had to have a drip in my hand for the whole labour will i need this again

You wont necessarliy test positive for it. It can come and go. My sister had it last time, but not this time. But then I DIDNT have it my first pregnancy, then 12 months later when I had my third child, I had it. My doctor said they think about 70 percent of women have it, maybe more, but it doesnt have to come out, you can carry it and test negative for it... Hopefully you wont need one and will test negative, but I know some doctors would treat for it anyway in case, since you had it before!

From what I understand Group B strep is always with you...so yes you will have to have the drip again.

Yes, Strep B is something you will always have, and is common for most women to have.

Yes. You will need to be treated at delivery to avoid transmission.
