There are different schools of thought on this subject. Transcendental meditation, sudarsana kriya, meditation by deepening the silence, meditation by observing the breath, sahaja Raja Yoga and the like.

To start with Transcendental Meditation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi appears to be simple and easy to practise, in calming down mental activities and strengthening inner vibrations leading to self realisation.

Reciting Gayatri Mantra, and continuous practise enhances mental powers and strengthen the bio rhythms leading to superior awareness levels.

Whatever be the system one adopts it is always advisable to get initiated through a well trained teacher or Guru.

In the early hours of the morning or in the evening find a quiet spot anywhere around your home... close your eyes and in your mind or out loud .. list all the things you are grateful for or have been given, your talents, your skills, a smile, a hug, the simple things we have taken for granted ... anything... and appreciate them all...relax and smile!
