Hi, I have a 31 day quite regular cycle give or take a couple of days. I am currently on my 27th day. Which means I should get my period on Monday/Tuesday. Is it too early to do a Home pregnancy test?

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

I did a home pregnancy test 3 days before my period was due and i got a positive result within 2 mins,although the line was very light. I did another test a day after my period was due and the line showed up much clearer. So you can get a result this early. Hope this helps!

The first response tests you can test 4 days before your period is due.
Though the cahnce of getting a correct result is something like 64% or near.
For some people It can take a few weeks to get the pregnancy hormone to rise, so I would wait a few days and if you period doesn't arrive by the time that your due on then test.
I know that its hard waiting believe me, but you don't want to get your hopes up.

Go to the Dollar Store and buy their pregancy tests. They are as accurate as others on the market, but probably not until the first day of your missed period. But, heck, for a dollar a test, you might as well start testing now! Good luck!

You're best bet it to wait until you've missed your period. If you get the HPT and take it now, you only have a 50-60% chance of getting a correct answer. Don't waste the money. I know that you're excited and you want to know yesterday, but you really should wait.

Go to pharmacy and get "First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test" it's supposed to let you know early i saw on tv.

Hey go to the doc's and ask for a hcg level blood test that will give you all the answers....good luck....its better than a home preg test...No home preg test worked on me but a blood test did.
