that cows were once killed by being forced down a line while a fammer stood above them and hit them in the head? I believe it is but my boyfriend doesnt. If somebody could answer this and proved some sort souce that would be great. I hate when he is right lol.

Upton Sinclair in his 1906 book, "The Jungle" described the job of cattle knockers:
"Along one side of the room ran a narrow gallery, a few feet from the floor; into which gallery the cattle were driven by men with goads which gave them electric shocks. Once crowded in here, the creatures were prisoned, each in a separate pen, by gates that shut, leaving them no room to turn around; and while they stood bellowing and plunging, over the top of the pen there leaned one of the `knockers,' armed with a sledge hammer, and watching for a chance to deal a blow. The room echoed with the thuds in quick succession, and the stamping and kicking of the steers. The instant the animal had fallen, the `knocker' passed on to another; while a second man raised a lever, and the side of the pen was raised, and the animal, still kicking and struggling, slid out to the `killing bed.' Here a man put shackles about one leg, and pressed another lever, and the body was jerked up into the air. There were fifteen or twenty such pens, and it was a matter of only a couple of minutes to knock fifteen or twenty cattle and roll them out. Then once more the gates were opened, and another lot rushed in; and so out of each pen there rolled a steady stream of carcasses, which the men upon the killing beds had to get out of the way."

Isn't it curious that we take a great meaning not only from Christ and the things he had to say -- are we ourselves forsaken? We are forsaken in many ways. We are shamefully scared forever. (no wonder its such a ***** being a women) It's OK for men to be ''''' yeah we know but females are to follow us no matter what. Us being men who find it easy, still, to blame it all on women. Hey, tell me you haven't witnessed this. You know if this is true why have men come out of Eden come out the winner? Eve was never supposed to be the victim. Adam was because he had heard the Word and he denied it by not saving Eve from the BIG mistake but not helping her to understand -- instead he took a bite of knowledge and doomed mankind to lifetimes of impurity.
On the other hand this is a pile of crap laid on me by times gone by.

Well, I don't understand why they would kill them. If it was a method of killing to retrieve their beef than yes there are all sorts of methods that cows are killed. They are shot in the head they are at time strangled and they are hit on the head.

yes that is true the men were called knockers rent the movie K-PAX "good movie" and they refer to this 3/4 the way in the movie
