I don't know much about Australian qualifications I am afraid, but I know that in the UK this is possible. Your best chance is to get onto a course that has an extra year at the start to bring everyone up to the same level. Otherwise it will help if you have relevant experience (such as having worked in a care home). You might need to go back to college to get school leaving exams done as you'll probably need some qualifications in English and Maths. College could also offer a course in Care or something which would help you when applying to university.

I suggest speaking to someone at your local university admissions department for advice.

Contact the schools your interested in. I'm sure they will have some form of re-entry program for you somewhere. Be prepared to take all the basics math,Eng, sociology, pysch to meet the requirements for any program you apply too. Oh and tests to see what level you should start at. Probobly not too different from US schools.

I did one a pair of years in the past on the age of twenty-two, having left college at 13 with none skills. they are extremely centred at getting you into college, with a private teach handy that may assist you with choosing classes and universities and making your utility. some even have hyperlinks with community universities (nevertheless oftentimes the former polytechnics quite than the extra prestigious places) wherein each and every pupil who completes the direction is assured a place or a minimum of an interview. it is likewise super education for college point artwork - maximum human beings i understand who did an get right of entry to direction got here upon themselves to be extra appropriate arranged in terms of working independently, essay writing, referencing and discovering while in comparison with scholars who had accomplished A tiers. all the tutors are conscious that most of the scholars would be slightly rusty academically, and in my adventure have been extremely efficient and inspiring. The classes are additionally very warm by using maximum universities, i'm at the instant at an amazing ten uni and all human beings i understand of who did the get right of entry to direction with me have been given into their first decision college and direction. If I have been you i'd bypass and talk to your community college, they are going to be waiting to grant you all the documents you prefer and would have open days or talks for human beings involved in the direction. i understand that there are different strategies, case in point some universities have beginning place years which prepare you for a particular direction there. even with the undeniable fact that purely some places have this option, and you will could be sure already which project you prefer to learn and the place. you may additionally do your A tiers, yet maximum universities ask for GCSE grade A-C in English and maths and in case you haven't any longer any skills in any respect then you certainly would prefer to do those on the comparable time. With the get right of entry to direction you get the such as those GCSEs besides by way of fact the such as 3 A tiers, multi function 12 months and as part of one direction. besides, in case you bypass to your community college and ask for an appointment with an instructional adviser, you would be waiting to talk all your strategies with them. good good fortune! by using ways, the respond given by using Opiniononly pertains to the US, no longer the united kingdom
