My husband and I are dual-military. We'll be celebrating our 1 year anniversary on Saturday. We were in Iraq for the first 7 months of our marriage. What can I get him as a gift to show him that I love him more than ever and that I'm very happy with him. (I already bought him a brand new motorcycle as a wedding gift, so please don't suggest I sell my other kidney to get him something that expensive again).

I'm a newlywed myself, congrats! Try something sweet, original and genuine. How about a gratitude journal, come up with things you are grateful for from your marriage and new family. Create a calendar with pictures of your first year together with the things you are greatful for as quotes on each month. I'm sure he'll love it. Happy Anniversary!

A really cute scrapbook with thoughts about him that you write down, pictures of you both and fun stuff. In the UK where I am from a first wedding anniversary gift is paper so this fits!

I commend both of you for your service to us all! Thank you and I pray God's richest for you tonight!

I believe that the best gift we can give our mates is our undivided attention and plenty of time. Material possessions are a quick perk but the thrill goes away after the newness wears off it. Since you two are in such a stressful occupation and probably do not get near enough time together I suggest that you put a bow on yourself and say to him "Baby, I am your present for our first anniversary and for every one that follows hereafter. I love you my precious one and want you to now that I am totally devoted to you. Never doubt my love and caring for you, my dearest one!"
