First of all, if he is on the diet ,he is the one that needs to take responsibility for that... you can't make him loose weight only he can do that! By you hiding them under the bed was an act of mercy in my opinion not a lie. At least you were not eating them in his face.
Did you tell him about the money??? If he does not know and he did not miss it how is that lying? Now if he asked you if you ever touched his jar and the money in it, and you said "NO NEVER" then that would be a lie. But, why would he care if you put it back right away. Unless he is a very unreasonable person who is a control freak.

I think there's different categories of lying: there's little white lies, fibbing, being "economical with the trust " (as our politicians say) and plain barefaced lying. It depends on the amount of harm that is being done in concealing the trust.
Maltesers? You haven't told him anything about the maltesers so that doesn't constitute any kind of lie, since he is ignorant of their existence. Taxi fare - heck, he's still ignorant and there's no damage done. However, if he asked you outright about these, and you didn't tell him, then I guess that's a white lie, perhaps a fib. Oh heck, what does it matter? Sometimes you just alter what's the trust to help thngs along, how many times have we women told men that "size doesn't matter". That's a white lie, helps the relationship along. How many times does your b/f say that your bum doesn't look big in an outfit - again, a white lie to not hurt you. So don't worry about it. All this thinking is making my head hurt !

The big box of maltesers is for your own consumption, is it not? That wouldnt be lying, unless you're both supposed to be on the diet. The taxi fare bit wouldn't be a problem, since you returned the money before he got home...that is of course if you didn't do anything disloyal with that taxi drive.

To me a lie is when someone asks you a question and you tell a falsehood in response. I knew someone who would go off on some elaborate story .........now that is lying. Got to the stage did not believe a word they said so they are no longer in my life. Honesty is always important. So I would tell him about the jar thing......and the malteaser thing......why are you feeling either need to be secret.

Keeping foods below you bed to assist him with his diet is no lie. Using his money first and having it replaced is also not a lie but it would be better if you've asked him for his permission first before he leaves for work.

Ringing him up would have been better. The best is to make sure earlier whether you have sufficient money, it would be nice to tell him and take money from him. You seemed to be a very delicate person and as such it is always better to inform your boyfriend so that you remain peaceful.
Helping your boyfriend to keep his diet is praiseworthy.

As for the box of whatevers.. No. It's for his own good. But the money? That is a no-no. If you are taking it, you should tell him and also tell him that you are replacing it. If he catches you doing it, even if you have the best of intentions, it can be taken way out of context. :)

Lying to me means being hurtful and dishonest. Everyone keeps secrets, its a healthy part of relationships. I dont consider these lying because they arent creating a problem. Everytime you replace the money, the problem is solved, everytime you eat the chocolates, the problem is solved so dont sweat it!

If you're using that money for taxi fare to go visit your other boyfriend to have sex with,
then...yes, you are living a lie.
You should just use your own money.

Nah. Empty it and head to the pub. When you get back make a bit of a mess of your house and claim you have been burgled.
