year and a half now. I wish I could go back a year and a half. I was not mature enough to be in college. I was not ready.

This is a serious thing to consider. Is there a way to start with a blank slate?

I finally understand. But, maybe I can move on.

My GPA is about a 3.0 right now. It's sad though because I'm getting it w/o any effort.

Can I get some serious advice please?

Thanks.

It's already in the records, so you can not really start with a 'clean slate'. What you can do, though, is to start studying again, and show tremendous amounts of efforts in REALLY studying. It would reflect on your grades, and from there, you could move on and improve on your academic records.

There is no way to go back and erase your grades. However, if you transfer to another university, your GPA will reset. But at the same time, it is unlikely that you will transfer up to a more prestigious school with mediocre grades, although 3.0 is considered "respectable".

I think you have plenty of time to bring up your GPA If you received anything less than a C in a class, then you can retake them. Also many graduate schools only look at the last two years worth of grades to account for those people who transferred from a JC.

Your best bet would be to continue your education at a different college. Usually only class credits transfer, but not GPA. That way you can get a new GPA when you transfer and if you apply to grad school or apply for a job you can tell them about how you were immature and to back it up you can show them that when you went back to school your GPA was much higher at the other university.

3.0 is not bad at all. Just get through school and get your degree because the end result nobody will care what your GPA was as long as you got your degree and you are dependable.
