Naturally, this is all very relative depending on where in the world you're coming from.

However, you may use the information below as a ballpark estimate of things:

- Can of coke - $0.80 - $1.00
- Full meal at a very good eatery - $7 - $10
- Posh meal at an excellent restaurant - $30 - $50
- Rent for 1 year
- Lagos Mainland [Very decent] - $3,000 - $4,500/ yr [payable 2 years advance]
- Lagos Island/Victoria Island [Posh]- $4,500 - $6000/yr [payable 2 years advance]
- Groceries - $200/mth
- Private School - $1000 - $10,000/yr [there are some reeeally posh schools that might cost more]

Added to these, you might need a generator [for electricity] - about $3000 - $7000, a driver [almost necessary] - $300/mth, a maid/househelp/cook - $300/mth.

Hope this helps!

Honestly It depends on where you want to live in Lagos. The city is like New York there is the poor area medium to rich areas. A question to ask yourself what do you do for a living and is it needed in the environment to want to move to. If your job can pay for all that then you got it made. that is the advice I would give.

It really depends. An Expat probably can't find adequate housing in VI with sufficient security for under USD 25,000 / year - payable in advance.

Anything imported is 2x the price it is in Europe. Really good fresh fruits, and a lot of other local products are cheap.
