Watching Bush "weasel" through the obfuscational defense of his A.G. was like watching a third grader try and lie about the tack he put on his teacher's chair. How firing political enemies and replacing them with hacks is defined as a "mistake" and not a purposeful intent to maintain one-party dominance is ludicrous!! Kyle Sampson knew when to fall on his sword, Gonzales is too stupid to raise the white flag.
We won't even need impeachment proceedings, felony warrants are much more efficient.

Of all the emails that have floated around, that is actually one of the few that might have been valid and reasonable.
As a threshold matter, it occurred in the first few weeks (give or take) of Bush's new term. Which means that he can claim it was no different than any other start-of-term situation.
Second, the changes in federal law allowing for indefinite interim replacements of USAttys wasn't even on the legislative agenda yet, and wouldn't become law for over another year. So, unless Rove planned all of that from day one, it doesn't go to show any unethical intent.
About the only bad thing that it shows is that Rove considered using the Justice department to advance his (and his boss's) political agenda. And that's certainly not news.
It's the late 2006 emails that are damning, and tend to show unethical activity. Rove's January 2005 email does not.

elitist always think those below them are stupider than they are, but they try not to underestimate that stupidity by promoting division. too frayed from conflict, the ruled will never rise above their station.
elitist believe once one has power (and money), one would always seek self (and wealth)-preserving options cleverly disguised and rationalized to be of benefit to those they rule. how else would the position be kept?
not what the founding forefathers had in mind with a parties system. but it's what it's become. elitist are probably right ... they should know ... absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Bush thinks you are awfully stupid along with the rest of us!
Hey, the CIA Secret Torture Camps got one guy admitting he has done everything since 1963! He probably admits assassinating Kennedy!
This guys " confession" isn't worth the paper it's written on, and you won't be hearing any of the trial! Hell he confessed! Torture seems to do that to people!
Bush and his cabinet are completely out of control! They are all BONKERS!
No different than any other term? Can you please name me any president and any term, other than George Bush, who wanted to fire every single one of them????
And some he wanted to get rid of as they were going after Republicans in criminal investigations, but Bush had another memory lapse!
That my friend is Obstruction of Justice and is a High Crime and Misdemeanor, along with the other 2,000 of them!
