Check fusible link sometimes on main batter cable near starter, sometimes not.

Perhaps the battery is just shot.

Are you getting an alternator light on the dash?

How's the new alternator push the headlights, etc. ok? no? Is it a rebuilt? new? Sometimes they are bad out of the box.

Hard to speculate further.

Perhaps the battery is not taking a charge, get both alternator and battery tested. If both are reported to be good. Then you have a break and or short in the charging circuit.I had the same problem with my Celebrity and both Alt and Bat were good.Short I could not find, break in circuit I could not find.So I 'jumped' the secondary wires across each other as the vehicle was running and heard the Alt 'kick in' when I got the right combination.I saw that it was charging again at gauge and put in a switch to 'turn on and off' the Alt. It works for me.Just don't leave the switch 'On' when shutting off the engine.

Check your connectors going to thhe alternator. Quite often they get corroded and will not give the correct voltage back to the alternator. The alternator needs 12v on the exciter terminal with the key on this should be terminal 1 also labeled field. terminal 2 is the voltage sensing connection. these 2 wires are in a connector that slides on to the alternator.
