Every other player out there has added FM stereo, if Apple is such a leader in the industry, why don't iPods have it? Is it arrogance: 'You'll take what we give you and like it!' I don't know.

I've no idea why not - but it really is annoying! I now use my phone to listen to music when i'm running - it has mp3s, radio and a pedometer- all stuff that ipods could have embodied in some way...And all things that you can buy as 'addons' for ipods - the nike shoe chip is a pedometer, and you can get plug in fm players, but why should I buy an expensive ipod and then spend MORE making it do what it should already be able to do!

they probably think they will sell fewer songs on iTunes if people can listen to free songs on the radio on their iPods. then they make you spend MORE money if you buy the FM add-on for your iPod. kind of crappy if you ask me.

It's an MP3 player. If I wanted a radio, I'd buy a radio.
