This is the link for the First Response Pregnancy test instruction page. I'm not going to "guess" and give you incorrect information. Read these instructions and perform the test exactly the way they say to. Also, according to their website, you can take their pregnancy test up to 4 days before a missed period.
If you think you are pregnant and that the HPT results are wrong, go see your gynecologist, local health clinic, or Planned Parenthood office and get a clinical pregnancy test. You can have a clinical test done at either a health or Planned Parenthood clinic for little or no cost.
Best of luck and I hope this information helps!!

I got a positive 7 days before my period was due by using the pregnancy test called Answer.
I don't know if you are talking about the digital or the regular test but check out their website
http://www.firstresponse.com
Q: How accurate is the test?
A: In studies of the FIRST RESPONSE® Pregnancy Test with urine samples representative of both pregnant and non-pregnant subjects, laboratory technicians obtained the correct expected result in more than 99%** of the samples, and consumers obtained the correct expected result in 98.4% of the samples.
* 99% accurate at detecting the pregnancy hormone. However, some pregnant women may not have detectable amounts of pregnancy hormone in their urine on the first day of the missed period or may have miscalculated the first day of their period.
Holding the test stick by the Thumb Grip with the Absorbent Tip pointing downward and the Result Window facing away from your body, place the Absorbent Tip in your urine stream for 5 seconds only. (You may also collect urine in a clean, dry cup and immerse the entire Absorbent Tip in the urine for 5 seconds only.)

Hi sweet have been using them also. You can test 4 DAYS BEFORE your period. Generally they are meant to be pretty good, so I've heard!
Your meant to leave the pee test in the urine a little longer if you were to pee on the stick itself. I'm not completely sure on this as I've never done it, but it other test you generally do.
The best thing is wait a week and test again. Reason why is that some people have to wait a little for their pregnancy hormone to rise, in some people its slower.
By all means do another test,. (I would out of curiosity) and what harm will it do. Read the instructions again.
You may also be just 'late', stress and thinking about it all too much can prevent your period from coming.
Good luck and hope you get the results that you want.

A little urine is okay to do the test in as long as it was in a cup and held in there the full ten seconds...I would wait another day or two and if you are still late, then test again. Many women take longer to produce enough HCG to turn a test positive. Good luck.

If you have missed your period by five days... you can take the test.
I did two first responses on very little urine and got immediate positive results.

Wait a few days, and try the test again. Not every woman tests positive right away. Or...go to the doctor and have them do a blood test. However, it sounds like you did the test just right.
I hope you get the answer you're looking for. :-)

I used first response 3 days after I missed my period and it was negative, I was sure I was pregnant so I did another one a week later which was 10 days after my missed period, it was positve, and I'm now 40 weeks pregnant today! So I'd leave it a few more days.
