It's a Classic and even in re-runs it is a lot more entertaining then the TV shows on the air now. People these days who didn't grow up with the great shows of the past, when writers "knew how to write" and create good shows have no idea what good TV is.

Its comedy is timeless. For a lesser extent, payment of royalties is inexpensive because mostly everybody who had a main part in the series are dead.

because people still like it... there are tons of old TV shows that are still on TV. i'm watching Fresh Prince of Bellaire on Nick @ Night right now! if people still want to watch it, why not?

It is true comedic genius. Not like today's sex, violence, belittling, rude, racist and sexist TV. Comedians like that who rely on facial and body movements just don't exist anymore. Society has dumbed itself into liking cookie cutter comedy.
