Depends on culture. Those from Anglo Saxon /north European background tend to be more private in showing emotion- though this is breaking down more. Those from other cultures are not so afraid to show emotion in public.
Most men have cried at one time, many, but not all, do it in private

I believe that they all do it in private. But ma man and I are not afraid to cry in front of each other. I am such a boy when it comes to crying. I try hard never to cry in fron of people, but it is suc a relief to be able to do it in fron of him and likewise.
