Okay I was getting ready to come clean to my friend that I was lying but I just cant do it.

Just tell the truth. If you think about it the first time for lots of things is the hardest. Once you start doing it then it gets easier (like lying). Take a deep breath, hope for the best, and fess up. Good luck.

Because the truth hurts. Also, it may be embarrassing and no on e likes to be embarrassed, so we cover the truth with lies.
We have a certain image that we want to portray to the world. If that image is shattered, then we feel like we are unworthy of friendship. Others put others under a microscope just waiting to see the imperfections. We are under a lot of scrutiny and it's a lot of pressure to live up to....so we lie.

There's a lesson to be learned. Perhaps your friend will understand the nature of your actions. And maybe if he's/she's a good friend he/she will apreciate your honesty.

That's the way you live. Not telling the truth i believe is more than just that. It's a self-defence mechanism in order to not let people inside. If your completely open and honest with people, unfortunatly; there's people that will use it to hurt you.

Whatever be the case, it is always good to tell the truth. You should gather courage to admit what you have done wrong and that you feel sorry fot it. To avoid one wrong thing, if you speak lies, you will continue speaking lies in a row.

well some people cant handle the truth. but if a lie helps ur friend get thru the day then i say just shut up and let ur friend be.

I know it's hard, but find a way. You'll like yourself better, but be prepared that your friend may not. However, you have to live with yourself everyday....
