Which political party is left, right, conservative, liberal?

I get them confused and I want to set my record straight.

Left = Liberal = Democrat
Right = Conservative = Republican

These are relative terms, Not all Democrats are Left wing liberals, and not all Republicans are Conservative. There are other lesser parties with a small percentage of registered voters.

Left generally refers to Democrats and Liberals, Right is mainly Republicans and conservatives, though that is not always the case. There are liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats, but not as common as the first example.

the democrats are typically socially moderate. economically they waver between socialist and semi-libertarian. which is a pretty big difference. on average: slightly left leaning moderates.

the republicans can be moderate-libertarians, who're socially liberal, and economically neoliberal, but aren't crazy like the libertarian party. or they can be very conservative both socially and economically. the extra-conservative variety has been the more powerful part of the party for a good number of years, due to religious evangelical types in the party. on average: conservative.

then there's crazy people who jump between parties and do whatever, just to keep themselves in power, changing what they claim to believe in just to suit the changes in their constituents. these people scare me.
