Two most interesting meteors I've seen --
(1) one that exploded just after passing over my position. I heard a *loud* crack, like a rifle shot.

(2) one that entered the atmosphere, started to glow, skipped back into space, cooled off, re-entered and glowed some more, skipped back out --- This happened four times.

One evening I saw a "fireball"... it was a large meteor with the apparent disk size of the sun (but probably only about a meter in diameter). It wasn't as bright as the sun, though, and it had a long thin tail as it sailed silently across the night sky. I watched it (with my girlfreind) - my mouth hanging open - as it disappeared over the horizon after about 10 seconds. I half expected the end of civilization... but we're still here...for now...

some sattellites move faster than others depending on their distance from earth. you could have either seen a meteor or an iridium flare too. im sure if aliens were intelligent enough to build technologies to travel interstellar distances, that they wouldnt waste their time sticking things up peoples **** considering we can see across the universe with our meager telescopes, why couldnt they just watch us from right where they are at??????
