Don't even try for the job if you don't have a clean driving record; a CDL would be a plus or maybe a requirement; go to the interview nicely dressed and clean shaven. Smile and have a firm handshake.

If you want to drive for a living, then you need a clean driving record-first and foremost. If you want to drive anything other than a regular car or truck, then you will need a special classification on your drivers license. In order to get that special classification, you'll need to go to a commercial driving school. The good part about that is that after you pass the school, many times they will help you get your first driving job. Good luck!

1. If you have to haul passengers or not! (It is easier to not...or not too many or too loud...esp. beware of school kids...esp. middle school...if you do have passengers...)
2. Layovers/ rest periods (how many and how long)
3. Type of equipment (if it is new and working properly)
4. Traffic conditions (ex: rush hour...where will you be?...or route..do you go through L.A.?)
