how can u tell when you have a fake or real designer purse..besides the cost?

it also depends on where you purchased the bag. I know macy's has serial codes for the more high-end purses that lets you know if its real or not. Patterns are more obscure on fakes. The font, or the stitching is off center sometimes, and obviously the material isn't as heavy, or isn't stiff, as in new leather since leather only soften after being used, or being put out in the sun, or the colors are sometimes not as bold. There is very important details like purse charms, the shape/pattern of the purse ( majority of fakes are based on the more popularly sold purses versus the variety of shapes and colors offered by the original designer), the way it is wrapped in the package,( IE tissue paper is wrapped around every tassle and some designers have their logo printed on the tissue paper itself), where it claimed to have been made, and the Logo that comes with a paper tag from the company. And the actual box that the purse comes in. Maybe that would help...good luck!

It would be hard to tell if a designer purse is fake or real for a person who doesn't really know about the brand. But take a look at its overall quality such as stitching details, coloring, materials, symmetry. A designer purse should be almost perfect, replicas are often poorly made with low quality materials and stitching is sloppy and logos are smudged or smeared. Otherwise, take it to the store to verify is authenticity.

usually the fake designer purses will leave out a signature trademark from the designer. for example, luis vuitton bags and purses have a print on the inside, but most fake designer bags don't have the print on the inside.

Usually the colors are not the same in intensity and leather is not as soft this is how you tell a fake from the authentic purse

Look at the all the details, particularly inside the purse. No fakes are perfect. Look at the quality of the fabric, stitching, hardware, etc.
