Should be the Yankees in the american league, and the St. Louis Cardinals in the National. Just look at their rosters and man to man those are the best teams. One could think for the Cubs, but's there's a leak in the pitching staff, also in White Sox or Detroit, but too many old players in both squads, and the Dodgers with too many questionable players. The Mets are great, but thier pitching staff is also the problem, with a lot of age, and a bullpen not very good looking...

The early favorite is Detroit. They are more loaded this year with Sheffield in the mix.
Does that mean they are going to win? No. But the question asks favorite, and they would have to be it.
On the list on won't happen:
1) Cubs - history speaks loudly, and poor pitching gets you nowhere.
2)K.C. - Because the are K.C.
3) T.B. - Because they are T.B.

the brewers...not. even though they are a much deeper team this year.(im a fan) im going to have to disagree with the previous response. first off the cubs always choke even when they spend 300 million in an off season. the bluejays will not make the post season. all they will do is keep both boston and yankees out of post season play. only one or the either will make it in. AL east will not have the wild card team.
But i would have to say that St Louis will repeat.

Detroit Tigers. Adding Gary Sheffield puts them over the top. Overall, a great line up. Their starting pitching is awesome and their bullpen is stocked. No glaring weakness.

Early favorite according to ESPN is the Boston Red Sox.
I'm not sure what the reality one is.
