1. Back up all your important files to a CD-ROM.
2. Re-format your hard disk, using a hard disk utility such as MaxBlast. erasing all data on the hard disk, includin the boot sector.
3. Install Windows and your software applications.

Open your Task Manager and see which process looks like a virus to you. Try to kill that process, and then download a free anti-virus from the net, like AVG or Avast or AntiVir, update and then your scan your computer. All this time, make sure the virus doesn't activate again because it could cause Denial Of Service attacks and prevent download / installation of the anti-virus. In case you fail, restart your computer in Safe Mode (repeatedly press F8 while its booting), and then just go on deleting every file that has been infected.

What is the name of the virus? What anti virus software are you running. ?
Do an Online Scan with any of the online scanners lists on the link below and let us know what virus you have on your computer.

Well you don't identify what it's doing other than slowing your system..It's probably malware located in you internet files or in you win sys32 file or both. go to micrsoft and get a free scan and windows defender..though it's far from being the best.
