Yes, this is normal.
Basically, everyone has told you why already. Your penis is naturally more sensitive after ejaculation, because of the increased blood flow that has inflated the penis and exposed nerve endings that are covered up by skin folds when it is flaccid. The added force of the ejaculation increases the blood flow and pumps up your organ to the max. The skin has been stretched, and it is natural to be a little sore.
Most guys require about 30 minutes for the hypersensitivity to go away, and they can go on with further sexual activity without pain.
Your reaction is perfectly natural, so don't worry.
If you are talking about pain in the "shaft" area afterward, this might be due to the intensity and force of ejaculation.
You did say this was the first time. We do not know if this is the first experience of ejaculation for you, perhaps you have experienced wet dreams, but likely you have not experienced this frequently, and when guys do not ejaculate for some period of time, it can be painful when it does happen.

could be one of two things.
1. The penis is always sensitive after orgasm.
2. FRICTION, use a lube next time.

if you didn't use lubricant it will hurt because your penis was dry while masturbating
