if you have not felt movement within 10 hours go directly to the emergency room.
When i got busy like you, i go and kinda poke around at her to see if i can get her to move... get something sweet to drink.. and usually that will do it for me.
If nothing within 30 minutes after that.. IM ON THE FIRST THING SMOKING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. I dont pass go, i dont collect 200 dollars.

COUNTING YOUR BABY'S KICKS
Every day at the same time, preferably just after you've eaten, take time to be aware of your baby's movements. You needn't stop what you are doing, just be aware and count each movement as you de¬tect it. If you haven't felt at least 4 or 5 movements by the end of an hour, you should redo the count, this time lying down on your side and focusing on counting movements. We call them "kicks" but all movements— punches, rolls and swooshes—count too, if it's a definite movement. You may be told it's normal for fetal activity to slow approaching full term. While that may be true for some women, the change should never be sudden. Sudden changes can signify trouble, usually involving the cord. If, after redoing the kick count, you still don't detect 10 movements within 2 hours, call your doctor. From a practical standpoint it's always easier to have your baby checked during office hours, but don't let the time of day stop you. If you detect a change in your baby's activity, call, no matter what the time. We've all been taught to be considerate of others but this is a different situation. Doctors, like firemen, have chosen a 24-hour occupation. You've chosen to become a mother. As a mother your job is to protect your baby. Pick up the phone and call at once. Tomorrow morning could be too late!

Try drinking a VERY ice cold beverage and try lying down. If this doesn't get baby moving a bit after a few moments (as it generally does) call labor and delivery and alert them to the sitatuation. They will very likely have you come in.
ALWAYS ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION DURING PREGNANCY!!!! Better safe than sorry is the mantra all pregnant women should be going by!

have you tried to get the baby to move by pushing in on your stomach, usually this will make the baby move, he doesn't enjoy being poked by you any more than you like being poked by him/her. unless you have had a difficult pregnancy, i wouldn't worry too much, he/she, is probably just resting up for the big event, as should you. if nothing happens in the morning, then i would call the doctor. Good luck with the new one and May God Bless.

I've never had a baby- but I'm sure they sleep too- and they are probably on your sleeping schedule. If you normally sleep at this time- he/she normally sleeps at this time too. Also- i know when my mom was pregnant with me, she was worried when i wasn't moving. She had my dad "jiggle" her belly around, and i was up the whole rest of the night. If you are really concerned- its never a bad idea to call your Dr. just to make sure.
Hope this helps!

heres what the triage nurse will tell you to do...drink a large glass of ice water, the colder the better lay on your left side and then if you still cannot feel baby after an hour they will have you come in for nst. also i had this problem but more like days of not feeling baby and they ended up pulling him out at 36 weeks.

Not proud of it but...I used to grab my belly and shake it to get the baby to kick! But I'm probably crazy anyway...I also played volleyball 9 months pregnant to induce labor...I have a healthy 18 year old now!

I would call imediately , better safe than sorry. My sister in law just had her baby not to long ago, he's safe and healthy thank goodness, but when she was visiting a few days before he was born , i remember her saying he had been such an active baby all the pregnancy , till about two days before that. come to find out during delivery , he had the cord wrapped around his neck, took him a while to breathe though.. thank god she delivered him when she did.

if its only a few hours i wouldnt worry.. could be sleeping.. or sitting further towards your back..
if its more than a few hours though then i would call the dr just to get an opinion..
There were times i didnt feel mine move for 5 or more hours.. but i was carrying in my back and apparently it is harder to feel them move when they are back there..
