Enterprise, hands down...

I'm a fan of Battlestar, but I'll have to say that the Enterprise would easily handle the Galactica.

1) The Enterprise has superior protection. Shields. These can handle most forms of attack and could easily handle the projectiles and nukes that the Galactica fires. The Galactica doesn't appear to have anything other than tough armor, which gets damaged from opposing fire and heavily damaged with nukes.

2) The Enterprise has superior range. It can engage enemy ships from tens of thousands of kilometers. So far, all the engagements we've seen from the Battlestar are at much closer ranges.

3) The Enterprise has superior weaponry. Phasers and Photon torpedoes. The Galactica has good weapons, but they do not compare to what the Enterprise is packing.

4) The Enterprise has superior speed. The Galactica can perform 'jumps', but these take time and calculation, they aren't meant for fast maneuvering during a battle. The Enterprise, on the other hand, can manuever and fire at multiples of the speed of light. Certainly faster than the Battlestar could handle.

Outcome,
The Galactica would get hit before it could detect the Enterprise. It would get hit with a full spread of photon torpedoes and a full volley from the phaser banks. Even if the Galactica could get close enough to fire shots or launch Vipers (which also shoot projectile rounds), the Enterprise's speed and shields would be more than enough protection.

The original Enterprise (the Scott Bakula version) didn't have shields, but did have hull plating and still has the rest of the advantages (range, speed, firepower).

Enterprise wins, hands down.

Which Enterprise?
If it is the first one i think it would be an even match, or maybe even the BSG since it has fighters (vipers).
After that I think that the enterprise would have the upper hand, with energy weapons and Shields
My money is on definitely with the next gen. Enterprise at that time nukes r like stones to us

Enterprise

The Enterprise would win if they fire phasers before the Galactica could lanch its Vipers, especially if the phasers hit the viper launch bay then follow that with photon torpedoes for good measure. Also the Enterprise being a smaller ship would be far more manueverable than the larger galactica.

have you seen anyone on the galactica beam down anywhere? no,so with star trek the technology is farther in the future. so enterprise has to be the winner. also the galactica was about to b e decommissioned before the series starts, it's a piece of junk

bsg does not have shields so i think it would lose against all enterprises. its only upside is that it has vipers but easily taken care of with the fazers

BSG is covered in turrets, and has several fleets of starfighters. I don't think there is a contest.
