wedding in Bangalore. We will be staying for a week, arriving in Bombay, and then travelling down to Bangalore by air. Is this reasonable for the children, and what is there for them to do in India? We were also considering leaving Bombay immediately and staying in Goa for a few days before going on to Bangalore. We went to India once before, and conditions were difficult.

India is a great place and many people visit with children. Main thing in cities is that tourist kids need to be very careful about traffic, food, hygiene (as do adults). You need to take the same precautions as you would in any city. One thing to consider is that crowds are big and it can be easy to lose sight of a wandering child. Have a contingency plan. Eg meeting place. Mobile to ring ( public phones available everywhere). A phrase to use. English is spoken most places.

Personally Bombay (Mumbai) is a good place to leave. Big.

Goa is a very interesting to place to visit and has a high number of westerners and more western food if you are worried about the local cuisine (but remember Indian food is wonderful, diverse, exciting and makes western take-aways look like soggy lettuce)

We had many months in India and those who had young children found that the biggest problem was that local always wanted to touch them (not in any bad way) or pick them up.

I think you will find plenty for the children to do and see- not dysney style but lovely Indian style.

The heat, the dirt and the crowds; India can be an exhausting place. But it can also be dazzling, friendly and exhilarating. And, because of the attention shown towards children (and, therefore, their parents), you will probably find that the frustrations you encountered last time you were in India will be diminished by having the children with you.
Planning a trip to India is never an easy task. Before you go, you need to make sure you're properly prepared - getting the necessary injections and visas and buying adequate insurance and even, to help the children get into the spirit of things, reading stories such as The Jungle Book at bedtime. Introducing their tastebuds to a few new flavours won't hurt either. Invest in a guidebook such as Your Child's Health Abroad (Bradt Publications, pounds 8.95, www.bradt- travelguides.com), which is a valuable resource dealing with the special risks for youngsters.

See Dear, if you are going all the way to Bangalore at this season then, it will be better if you continue your tour further to Mysore, Ooty ( Uttakmand ) and / or Kerala Backwaters. I am sure, you will enjoy more over there because this is not the right season to visit Goa considering the heat over there, and since specifically you are travelling with your small children. Have a nice time in India. Bye.

It was difficult for every body (parents and children) but i can say that they were really sad of leaving the country and they did realy love being in India.

So long you are very very careful about what you are
drinking and eating, there seems to be no reason to panic.
The childrens will do the same thing, what they are doing
in their own home. Conditions in India is different, not
difficult. A country where millions and millions happy and
healthy people lives by choice, who once lived abroad
for long.
