It has more to do with how soft the fabric is and what company makes them than washing. Certain denims are made to soften and they will also fade. The worst jeans for fading are Wranglers. If th e fabric is a hard finish and is stiffer it isn't likely to fade much.

Wash the garment using a cup of vinegar instead of detergent to help set the color, the next times you wash it, use only cold water and a very mild detergent. Dry on high heat because the heat also helps set color.

Always wash inside out, in cold water, if possible, use Woolite Dark Wash detergent, and dry on low temperature. Good luck!

Try washing it in cold water. Also try using Woolite and this one liquid detergent from tide that's called i think "coldwater" it's meant for dark clothes. Hope that helps! :)

Inside out, cold and the key is Tide Original ~ its the only soap that has quick dissolving, hydrogen peroxide, and moisture guard.

i like dark wash denims and that i continuously had that comparable concern. i purely wash mine interior out and then carry them to dry and that they do no longer look to vanish. then i purely toss them in the dryer for 5-10 minutes afer they are already dry to lead them to no longer as stiff.

instead of washing them and them wasting away from the detergent....get a spray bottle...fill it with water and salt....hang your pants on a hanger and spray it with the water and salt...salt is a cleanser but it wont damage the pants...then just let them air dry..they will be fine..no fading!
