I think you should be glad that you are the person you are.
Why bring your parents into the conversation?
I would never say I have two light skinned white/white parents
well, maybe the people think you are pulling there leg as the statement is not something you hear everyday. This is the first time I have heard this said like this. Well, good luck.

I'm guessing it may have something to do with your complexion and your environment. If you look like you're white but live or socialize in predominately black areas, they probably think you're a white chick who's trying to make yourself seem cool or more "acceptable" by pulling the "I've got black in me" card. In case you didn't already know, most blacks hate that, because it's phony! So, if you're just randomly saying "hey, I'm black...I have 2 bi-racial parents", then they probably think you're pulling that card and being phony. So, my advice to you is, stop divulging that information without provocation. If your racial make-up is that important to the people around you, maybe you need to make arrangements to put yourself in a less judgemental environment.

They're ignorant people - they've probably never met a lightskinned person who had two lightskinned parents, probably the only lightskinned people they know are folks like me - people that had one Black parent and one White parent. That's why they think that all lightskinned people are like that.

Dont worry about what other people think.
If they dont believe you then, that is their problem.
I seen on TV a few years ago. Two twin girls, one was as white as one could get with blonde hair and the other twin was Black with dark Afro hair. I would have never believed them if I hadn't seen it on TV.

Because the people acting that way are rude. I dont know who they are but if they think they are your friend they arent. If you told me that I'd have no reason not to believe you unless I knew for a fact you were a chronic liar. So I would just take your word for it.

WHO CARES! why are you so focused on telling people? Be who you are not what COLOR you are.
PS this half this half that is BS! We're all mixed up and we are not just the "color" of our parents. I hate when people ask "what are you"? Stupid Americans. What they really are asking is what CATOGORY can I put you in? and was I right? if they don't get the answer the expected they get angry, and try to tell yu what you are,"oh you look like xyz, or are you sure you don't have X in you? Don't help the ignorant.

If you can pass for full white you shouldn't mention it if you want the white people to treat you like "one of them". The easiest thing to be in America today is a white female.

I can't tell you that, but I think light skinned black girls are hot. By the way, I'm a white guy. Race really isn't an issue with everyone.
